Performance wheel manufacturer Method Race Wheels uses cool, energetic lifestyle content to promote its brand on YouTube and social media. The videos create a sense of the vibrant, authentic personality of the activities that represent the brand. Because of the work I do with Harry Wagner creating off-road video content for the Driving Line YouTube channel, we were asked to shoot video content for the launch of a Method Race Wheels product.
We took several vehicles outfitted with Method Wheels on a trip through the historic, world-famous Rubicon Trail in Lake Tahoe, California. For this trip, we invited several local 4×4 enthusiasts and also chef and adventurer Rashad Fraiser, co-founder of the backcountry adventure travel company Camp Yoshi. Rashad is a professional chef who creates amazing dining experiences in remote places on Camp Yoshi’s guided adventure tours. We were not prepared for the level of awesome that he was able to pull together on the tailgate of a truck in the middle of the Rubicon trail. And still, it’s hard to convey the magnitude of the meal made for us with mere words. But this short video I shot and edited for Method Race Wheels comes pretty close.
The main content that Method Likes to push with projects like this is their GO! Series. This is a series of lifestyle videos highlighting travel to a particular destination. These videos showcase amazing destinations like Baja, Mexico, Big Sur, California, and Sand Hollow, Utah, and how Method Race Wheels help get you there. The primary purpose of this shoot was to create a GO! Rubicon video for their YouTube and social media channels. This edit captures the epic scenery and constant challenge of the Rubicon Trail.
It was fun shooting and editing these videos. The Rubicon trail is a true adventure!
