I created this video with a Northern California business called International Harvester Parts which restores and modifies classic International Harvester trucks like the Scout. In this video, Jeff Ismail gives an overview of their services upgrading these vehicles featuring their GM LS engine conversions as well as some of the other modifications they made to this classic 4×4.
I have enough experience shooting automotive and off road videos in the last few years that I think I can now call it a specialty. In fast I met Jeff and International Harvester Parts through Harry Wagner and the video’s we make together for Nitto Tires and Driving Line on YouTube.
For this video I met Jeff at his business in Grass Valley, CA and we shot the interview out in front of his shop. I used one camera on sticks and one on a gimbal to get a dynamic t camera interview setup. For audio I use my awesome and super convenient Rode Wireless Go microphones. I added a little fill light to this shop with my Aputure COB 60x lights.
For the shots with the Scout on the lift I used my DJI Gimbal with my Sony FX3 in S&Q mode for buttery smooth slow motion footage. When shooting hand held in the cab of the scout while we were driving I relied on the Sony SteadyShot in-body image stabilzation. This allows me to get natural looking hand held footage without too much shake.
As always I edited this product promotional video in Apple’s Final Cut Pro with custom motion graphics I built in Apple’s Motion 5 app.
