This past summer I worked with the Nevada Cancer Coalition to create a series of short vertical social media videos to help Nevadans understant the importance of regular skin cancer screenings. NCC is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to fostering collaboration, providing information and resources, and advocating for equitable access to care. Their initiatives empower Nevadans to prevent cancer, detect it early, and access adequate treatment and support at all stages of the disease.
About the Video Project
About the Project
For this video production, we organized a video shoot at a local dermatology office to emphasize the importance of regular skin cancer screenings. We enlisted volunteers of diverse ages, genders, and ethnicities to serve as patients undergoing comprehensive full-body skin examinations. Using my 4K Sony video cameras, I captured these screenings to create authentic and educational content.
Post-production involved scripting and editing 12 short vertical videos tailored for social media platforms. These videos cover various topics related to the significance of skin cancer screenings, aiming to educate and encourage the community to prioritize their skin health.
What is A Skin Cancer Screening?
A skin cancer screening is a visual examination of the skin conducted by a healthcare provider to check for moles, birthmarks, or other pigmented areas that look abnormal in color, size, shape, or texture. The goal is to detect skin cancer at an early stage when treatment is more likely to be effective.
